Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7, 2010, USA) was an American actress and singer. She appeared in films during the 1940s and 1950s[2] and on television in 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara became her name professionally and she was offered a contract by Columbia Pictures[citation required]. She also had experience with the studio's comedy shorts and B-features. Soon, this was shortened to Adele Mara. Mara was the receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters as Rita Hayworth's character in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays the lead female character in Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in which she plays the sister of an wrongly exiled and charged convict. After her Columbia contract ran out and she was transferred to Republic Pictures, where she was a regular in the studio's westerns and outdoor adventures. She was a part in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love partner), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
